Foundation

Your gifts to the Lakewood Health System Foundation will help fulfill healthcare needs in the communities we serve -- enriching lives every day.

The Lakewood Health System Foundation was established by the Lakewood Health System Board of Directors in 1994. The Foundation is in the hands of the Endowment Board which consists of seven volunteer community representatives, one Lakewood Clinic physician, the president of the governing board, and the president of Lakewood Health System.

MEET THE FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The well-being of our communities is our focus. With your support, Lakewood Health System is able to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors - providing the best possible care today, and into the future. Through our hospital, clinics, senior housing, and Care Center along with our programs such as Home Care, Hospice, Palliative Care, support groups, and eductional opportunities, Lakewood Health System Foundation is able to impact thousands of lives. We work closely with volunteers, pphysicians, staff, community members, and neighbors to keep our products and services current and cost-effective, and our communities happy and healthy.

With your help, we pledge to continue to make a difference in the lives of our patients, their families, and loved ones. Thank you for your support!

DONATE TO THE FOUNDATION ONLINE

The Foundation holds a number of events throughout the year to encourage charitable gifts in support of community health-related projects. Events include:

Dinner Auction
The Dinner Auction is an annual event to raise needed funds for the foundation and the great projects it supports. All proceeds of the dinner auction typically benefit the Mission Fund of our Foundation. The Mission Fund supports the funding requests throughout the given fiscal year. Each year, the Foundation grants dollars for health related projects/programs to businesses, schools, and organizations.

Golf Classic
The annual Foundation Golf Classic is held at the Vintage Golf Course in Staples every August. Teams play 18 holes, with a choice of a morning or afternoon tee time. All funds raised go towards the Foundation's Mission Fund.

Bids for Kids
Bids for Kids is an auction event where Lakewood Health System employees generously donate goods and services to be put into either the silent auction or live auction portion of the event. All the proceeds of the event go toward the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Diagnostic Clinics at Lakewood Health System.

Seasons of Lights
Presented by the Lakewood Health System Foundation and Hospice Program, the lighting ceremony is a meaningful way for families and friends to pay tribute to the memory of a special loved one or honor someone living by purchasing a light for the memorial tree. Contributions benefit our Hospice Program. This event is held the first Monday (in Staples) and Tuesday (in Long Prairie) of December each year. It is held in two separate locations because our Hospice Program reaches out to such a wide service area.
