Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is used for a wide variety of reasons. It can simply be for relaxation, or it can be an important part of a healthcare plan. Our therapists work with your individual needs to determine the style of massage best suited for you. All massages are done in a private, comfortable and professional manner.

With the many benefits massage offers, ask your doctor if massage might help with your current healthcare plan. It may be covered by some insurance carriers. Massage services are also available by appointment.

Swedish massage is the most commonly offered and best-known type of massage. If it's you're first time receiving a massage, Swedish massage is the perfect place to start.

During Swedish massage, our massage therapists use massage oils to facilitate smooth, gliding strokes. Other classic Swedish massage moves include kneading, friction, stretching and (sometimes) tapping.

Swedish massage uses firm but gentle pressure to promote relaxation, ease muscle tension and create other health benefits including:

  • Stress, tension and anxiety relief
  • Improved blood circulation, which delivers oxygen and nutrients to the cells
  • Stimulation the lymphatic system, which carries away the body’s waste products
  • Prevent and relieve muscles cramps and spasms
  • Pain management in conditions such as arthritis, sciatica, muscle spasms

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots.

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated stones. They are often basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. It is a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage. The heat helps tight muscles release. Add a $10 charge to the regular massage rates for Stone Therapy.
