Respiratory Department

Our Respiratory Therapy Department is staffed by licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners and, under the direction of a physician, treats respiratory illnesses such as Asthma, Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis, and Pneumonia as well as many other respiratory ailments. The department’s scope of care includes, but is not limited to:

• Respiratory and oxygen therapy
• Airway management and resuscitation
• Diagnostic testing and monitoring
• Mechanical Ventilation
• Pulmonary Function Testing
• Sleep Studies
• EEG Services
• Pulmonary Rehabilitation
• Education and learning opportunities

A Pulmonologist from CentraCare regularly visits Lakewood Health System. Consultation, treatment, and diagnostic testing are available for pulmonary diseases including:

• Cystic Fibrosis
• Congenital Malformations of the Lung
• Recurrent Pneumonia
• Persistent Coughing
• Pulmonary Hemosiderosis
• Immotile Cilia Syndrome
• Asthma
• COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
