DR. GERALD HENRICKSON
In July of 1980, the community of Staples
welcomed Dr. Gerald Henrickson, his wife Debbie and their daughter
Cory to the Lakewood family. 25 years later and through many
changes—a sense of community and his dedication to providing
the best care possible have remained constant.
Originally from Richfield, Dr. Henrickson
received his education at Macalester College, the University
of Minnesota Medical School and completed his residency at
Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park. According to Dr. Henrickson,
after coming to Staples for an interview, he knew that Staples
would soon be home, “We knew that same evening that we
wanted to come to Staples to live and practice, and we haven’t
regretted it!”
Since 1980, Lakewood Health System has grown
from a team of five physicians to a team of twelve. The Henrickson’s
expanded their family to include a son, Nathan and the Lakewood
Clinic has grown to give Dr. Henrickson the opportunity to
practice in both Browerville and Eagle Bend. In that time,
Dr. Henrickson is most proud of the quality of care both he
and his colleagues have provided to the area. Even with all
that has changed since his arrival, Dr. Henrickson is still
focused on providing, as he states, “(the) best care
to each individual patient.”
Dr. Henrickson describes the passing of the
past 25 years as amazingly quick and is looking forward to
continuing to serve the area well into the future, “The
many wonderful people I have met over the years as patients
and friends are what keep me here in Staples.”
When he’s not at work, you can find
Dr. Henrickson walking with his wife Debbie and carrying his
backpack, or hunting, fishing, practicing archery or just enjoying
the outdoors.
Thank you, Dr. Henrickson. Your 25 years of
service have been a gift to our area.
