Pharmacy CLINICAL PHARMACY SERVICESLakewood Health System pharmacy provides a variety of clinical services to our Hospital, Care Center and Clinics. The purpose of all of the clinical pharmacy programs is to ensure that drug therapies are optimal and cost effective while minimizing side effects. The clinical pharmacy services are best illustrated in the following examples: DRUG DOSING SERVICE The Lakewood Health System pharmacy department also does drug dosing and monitoring upon request of the medical staff. Some medications such as seizure medications and some antibiotics must be specifically dosed and monitored for each patient. The clinical pharmacy service monitors blood levels of the medication and makes adjustments in the dosage as necessary to provide the most effective treatment with the least amount of side effects.
