Support Groups

Receiving emotional and moral support from other people can help speed up one's recovery from medical and social conditions, and provide reassurance that there are others who are going through the same thing. Support groups often supplement - or even substitute - the care given by family or close friends. The results can be life-changing: most participants are able to cope better with their situation, and move ahead with their lives in a more positive manner. Fortunately, Lakewood Health System has several ongoing support groups for those who would like this type of care.

Dementia Care Group
The Dementia Care Group meets at the Staples library located just north of the stoplights on HWY 10. Everyone who is interested is welcome. For additional information and times please contact Erin Shultz, LSW at 218-894-8288.
