Emergency Services
Lakewood Health System's Emergency Department
is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
In addition to our Emergency Department we also
provide ambulance transportation according to the patients needs
in an appropriate time frame, and we provide Advanced Life Support
to critically ill patients during ambulance transportation.
Upon arrival to the Emergency Department (ED)
at Lakewood Health System, you will be seen by a Registered Nurse.
This is called triage. We recently implemented a 5 level triage
system in our Emergency Department. Triaging is the first step
to determine the seriousness of your condition.
24-Hour Emergency Room
Lakewood Health System's Emergency Department
is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
A physician is always on duty in our emengency
room, along with specially trained nurses. When an emergency situation
arises due to accidents or severe illness, our skilled professionals
and technology are ready to help. We urge the people of our communities
to let us determine if persistent chest pain, bleeding, difficulty
breathing or other symptoms are life-threatening. When you need
assistance call 911 for any emergency!
Ambulance
The Ambulance department believes in the dignity
of the individual and ensures that employees understand their
own needs and recognize the impact of their own behavior or relationship
with patients and co-workers.
When a medical emergency arises and a patient
needs to be transferred to another facility by ambulance or air
ambulance, safety and security is our number one priority.
We provide ambulance transportation according
to the patients needs in an appropriate time frame, and we provide
Advanced Life Support to critically ill patients during ambulance
transportation.
