A LEADER IN INNOVATION
Lakewood Health System is a progressive leader in modern medicine. Programs such as our Medical Home have been recognized state and nationwide. Our reputation as an early adopter of the health care home has allowed Lakewood Health System and physician champion Dr. John Halfen the opportunity mentor other facilities through their implementation. Our coordinated care programs like Medical Home and Palliative Care have allowed our medical staff to provide comprehensive care to those who need it the most.
HIGH EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
HR Solutions recently awarded Lakewood Health System with a Best-in-Class® Seal. This honor is rewarded to select organizations whose employee survey scores are within the top 10 percent of Employee Engagement and Overall Job Satisfaction levels. Research shows that engaged employees are more productive employees. They are more customer-focused, and safer. The results of the survey tell us that overall, Lakewood employees enjoy coming to work every day, and feel a true sense of fulfillment and passion for what they do.
CULTURE & CARE
More than 30 physicians, specialists and physician extenders have made Lakewood Health System their “home” for practicing medicine. Our culture is very family-orientated and friendly. We work with our friends, neighbors, and even family members. Our caring environment is evident as soon as someone walks in the door. Our providers agree:
“Patients tell me daily that they feel cared about as an individual – from getting assistance in the parking lot -- to the reception process – to nursing interaction. I’ve never worked anywhere else where the staff works so well together.”
“My favorite thing about working here is the people. This is a friendly work environment and our employees really care about our patients.”
Lakewood Health System offers medical staff an opportunity to practice within a broad spectrum of care. The wide scope of our on-staff specialists and visiting partners allows providers to deliver the comprehensive care patients needs, all in one place.
TEAMWORK
Lakewood Health System offers more than just stable work. We truly value work-life balance, and here, you’ll find less required working and on-call days. You are the keeper of your career path at Lakewood Health System. We accommodate that by customizing a plan based on your interests and needs. It’s a partnership. A team. Our providers agree:
“This is an independent system governed by an administration that listens to its providers and emphasizes the importance of primary care.”
“The working atmosphere is always friendly and supportive. The physicians work well together and are responsive to requests for consults or other assistance.”
“My work seems to be valued by my patients and colleagues.”
WELCOME TO STAPLES
The historic, quaint town of Staples is located in north central Minnesota (Todd County) and has a population of approximately 3,000 people. Its neighbor, Motley, is just a few miles away and has another 1,000 people. The two towns collaborate on many community-wide initiatives, including the local school system. Staples boasts many attractive store fronts and businesses in the downtown area, giving it a “Main Street USA” feel.
Staples is proud of its rich history and accomplishments in the areas of business, education, health care, athletics and cultural activities. Community involvement, passion, and loyalty is alive and well in Staples -- From the town rallying around local sports teams, to attending concerts and other fine arts-related events, to supporting local philanthropic efforts, to cultural activities representing the strong Scandinavian & Finnish ancestries in the area.
Other Staples attractions include Central Lakes Community College, a historic brick train station built in 1909, a municipal airport, a weekly newspaper -- Staples World, The Vintage Golf Course, an eclectic mix of restaurants and coffee shops, and a variety of retail stores to meet just about anyone’s shopping or gift-giving needs.
Our employees appreciate and enjoy living here for many different reasons:
“The beautiful nights of moonlight on snow. Quiet sunsets on the lake and loons crying into the night. Beauty all around every day.”
“No matter where I am, someone always offers a hand – and this is important since I’m in a wheelchair. Sometimes I’ll have THREE people offer to help me fill my car – even in the snow!”
This is a friendly community with opportunities to get involved in activities and community planning/development.
I enjoy the lifestyle here. It’s rural, yet very accessible to larger areas for shopping, dining, etc.
