Expecting a Baby

At Lakewood Health System your pregnancy is important to us, and our OB Expectations program is one way for us to assist you during your pregnancy. Our OB Expectations program is staffed with labor and delivery nurses from the hospital. This enhances your continuum of care so you can meet and learn from the same nurses who will be there for you when your baby is born.

Support

Our OB Expectations staff can assist you before or after your appointments with your provider, we can assist you with a tour of the birthing unit, instruct/guide you to specific information about your pregnancy, discuss hospital care – (during delivery or after), and assist you as needed when unable to reach your provider. We also will do a one-time home visit after your infant is born.

Our office is staffed with Certified Lactation Counselors to assist with breastfeeding, and a car seat safety technician to assist with car seat safety. She can instruct you on choosing the correct car seat and installation. We do travel to our satellite clinics located in Motley, Pillager, Eagle Bend and Browerville, as needed.

Our program is free of charge. For more information on the OB Expectations program and what it offers, or to make an appointment, please call 218-894-8525.
