Maggie Freiberg, licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW), is the newest member of Lakewood Health System’s behavioral health team.
Originally from Annandale, Freiberg completed her undergraduate work in psychology at St. Cloud State University, and received her Master’s in social work from the University of North Dakota.
As an LICSW, Freiberg’s professional treatment interests include traumatic life experiences, anxiety and fear, and substance use disorders. She has a special research interest as well as teaching experience in the area of suicidal behavior.
Freiberg relocated to the Staples area from southwest Minnesota where she had been working in an integrated rural healthcare setting. “I feel honored to be a part the Lakewood Health System community,” said Freiberg, “and am really looking forward to working with new clients in the clinic.”
Freiberg enjoys gardening, the end-point of any desert hike, and starting home renovations. She is new to the art of growing grapes and wine-making. She has three adult daughters who reside in the St. Cloud area. She will be seeing patients in our Staples clinic.
