Feb. 11, 2026: Lakewood Health System’s Surgery Department reached a significant milestone in 2025, performing a record 5,461 patient procedures — the highest annual volume in the department's history.
According to Missy Lindow, Chief Operations Officer, this achievement reflects the dedication, coordination, and excellence of Lakewood’s surgical teams, who successfully met growing procedural volumes while maintaining a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
“This outcome was made possible through a truly coordinated team effort,” Lindow said. “Patients were optimized for surgery, surgeons were actively engaged, and together this team embraced the challenge of improving on-time starts and room turnover, saving valuable time while never compromising patient safety.”
Lindow said this milestone also underscores Lakewood’s continued investment in delivering exceptional surgical care close to home, that's supported by collaboration across scheduling, outpatient services, sterile processing, anesthesia, operating room teams, and post-anesthesia care.
Congratulations to our incredible Surgery Department on this outstanding milestone!
