Oct. 25, 2024: Lakewood Health System welcomes Dr. Chris Hughes as the newest provider to the family medicine team.
Originally from Aitkin, MN, Dr. Hughes completed his undergraduate degree at the College of St. Scholastica, and received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School – Duluth. He completed his residency at Duluth Family Medicine Clinic and is a member of the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Hughes was a Rural Physician Associate Program (RPAP) student at Lakewood during this third year of medical school.
Dr. Hughes practices full-spectrum family medicine including preventative and hospital care, obstetrics and pediatrics. He also enjoys teaching students and residents. “I wanted to be part of a medical practice that focuses on the community’s health by providing top-notch care. I’m excited to join the excellent staff and providers at Lakewood, and my family and I look forward to spending our future in the area!”
In his free time, Dr. Hughes enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife and two young daughters. They also have a German Shepard puppy who keeps them quite busy. As a family, they enjoy walks with the dog, being outdoors and doing home improvement projects.
