Sept. 20, 2024: Lakewood Health System will have flu and COVID-19 shots available starting Monday, September 23 at all Lakewood clinic locations during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. Everyone six months and older is eligible for a flu and COVID-19 shot. For the flu shot, FluMist and high-dose options are available to those who qualify.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), annual flu and COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended for everyone six months and older, with few exceptions. Vaccination is especially important for those who are at higher risk of developing serious complications from the flu or COVID-19. People with higher risk include, but are not limited to:
