Originally from St. Paul, MN, Apana completed his graduate degree at Purdue University. He is a member of the Minnesota Nurses Association, American Nurses Association of Nurse Practitioners, and American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
As a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Apana will see patients who are 18 years or older who are needing support with managing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD and schizophrenia. His approach to psychiatric medication management is collaborative and he believes the best outcomes occur when patients are actively involved in their care and have adequate access to education about their diagnosis and medication. “I chose to provider care at Lakewood because of its commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care, and its collaborative team environment. I’m looking forward to building meaningful connections with patients and colleagues.”
In his free time, Apana loves spending time with his family and doing anything outdoors. He also enjoys playing soccer and basketball.
