Oct. 18, 2024: Lakewood Health System welcomes Lexie Otteson, Doctor of Nursing Certified Nurse Midwife (DNP CNM) to its women’s health team.
Originally from Proctor, MN, Otteson completed her undergraduate degree at the College of St. Scholastica, and received her graduate degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
As a midwife, Otteson has a variety of interests including, obstetrics, women’s health, contraception, prenatal and postpartum care, physiologic birth and breastfeeding. “I have chosen to provide care at Lakewood due to my appreciation for the rural community and my desire to establish meaningful connections with my patients and their families in the future. There is a need for midwifery services in this region, and I consider it a privilege to address this need. I look forward to being present for each of my patients, as I believe everyone has a voice that deserves recognition—this is a source of empowerment. I gain valuable insights from my patients on a daily basis. I look forward to fostering a trusting and collaborative relationship with my patients and their families, and I am eager to work alongside the welcoming staff at Lakewood.”
Otteson and her husband, Trevor, have a golden retriever named Colbie. In her free time, Otteson is a yoga sculpt instructor, loves to be outdoors, walk her dog, and be active. She is a sports enthusiast, and enjoys being present with her amazing family.
