In a year defined by growth, compassion, and community, the Lakewood Oncology Support Fund has continued to show just how powerful generosity can be. What began as a simple idea—helping cancer patients remove the financial barriers that often overshadow their care—has grown into a truly meaningful and impactful resource for patients and families.
Since its inception, the Oncology Support Fund has helped 54 families, providing $18,725 in direct support for essentials like fuel cards, lodging, groceries, transportation, missed-work expenses, and other unexpected burdens that arrive with a cancer diagnosis. And in 2025, the momentum has only continued to build.
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, employees, partners, and event participants, the fund is projected to raise nearly $120,000 this year alone. Signature Foundation events played a major role—Give Orange Fundraiser + Auction, with its inspiring stories and energizing live auction experiences, and the always-playful Fancy Pants Golf Classic, which once again paired fun on the course with generous support from teams and sponsors. Both events helped fuel this year’s remarkable growth, alongside the steady commitment of our employee payroll givers.
One of the year’s most inspiring moments came this fall as the new Lakewood Cancer Center opened its doors and we introduced a matching gift challenge in celebration. The Lakewood service area stepped up in a big way, contributing more than $21,000 in just a few weeks. Matching contributions from First International Bank & Trust, along with anonymous donors, helped extend this generosity even further for patients facing some of their most difficult days.

It brings dignity, hope, and relief at exactly the right moment.”
