4 to 7 p.m.

Location
Lakewood Health System Main Campus - Lower Level Fireplace

Details

Lakewood Health System will host a public open house for its new da Vinci 5 surgical system on Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. near the fireplace on the lower level of Lakewood’s Main Campus in Staples (49725 County 83). Enter through the Main Entrance.

During the event, representatives from Intuitive, the maker of the da Vinci system, will provide demonstrations, answer questions, and give attendees an opportunity to try operating the technology themselves. Surgeons who use the da Vinci system will also be available to discuss how robotic-assisted surgery is used and answer questions.

The da Vinci 5 is the latest generation of robotic-assisted surgical technology. It is designed to give surgeons enhanced visualization, precision, and control during minimally invasive procedures. Throughout surgery, the surgeon remains in control, using the system to translate their hand movements into precise movements of specialized instruments.

Lakewood is among a small number of healthcare organizations in Minnesota with a da Vinci 5 system, providing local access to advanced robotic-assisted surgical technology.

The open house is free and open to the public, and no RSVP is required.
