Robotic-Assisted Surgery

Lakewood Health System now offers robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery using the da Vinci 5 surgical system, bringing advanced minimally invasive surgical technology closer to home. For certain gynecologic procedures, including hysterectomy, the system allows specially trained surgeons to operate through small incisions while viewing the surgical area in detailed 3D.

The da Vinci 5 gives surgeons precise control of specialized instruments designed to support delicate movements during surgery. Your surgeon remains in control throughout the entire procedure, directing every movement of the instruments in real time.

Robotic-assisted surgery may be an option for some patients, but it isn't right for every procedure or individual. Not all Lakewood OB/GYN providers perform robotic-assisted surgery, so your provider will discuss your options and help determine the surgical approach that best meets your needs.
