Nov 27, 2024: Lakewood Health System welcomes Rachel Paryzek, physician assistant, to the family medicine provider team.
Originally from Valparaiso, NE, Paryzek has an undergraduate degree in exercise science from North Dakota State University, and completed her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Bethel University. She belongs to the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, and the Catholic Medical Association.
As a physician assistant, Paryzek chose to work within family medicine due to her love of caring for patients of all ages. She has special interests in natural family planning, and preventative medicine with exercise and nutrition. As a student, Paryzek completed a family medicine clinical rotation at Lakewood’s Browerville and Eagle Bend clinics, where she worked alongside a number of Lakewood’s family medicine advanced practice providers.
“I chose to work at Lakewood because I had a wonderful clinical rotation here in family medicine, and it allowed me to move back to a smaller, rural community like the one in which I grew up. I’m excited to start building relationships with patients and meet them where they are at in their own health journey.”
Paryzek is married to her husband, Jace, and they have one son. She and her family love to be outside, whether that is hiking, hunting, or exploring new places. She is an avid runner and has completed everything from 5Ks to marathons. Paryzek also enjoys crafting and growing in her faith.
