Aug. 9, 2024 — Lakewood Health System welcomes Shelby Gawarecki, physician assistant (PA-C), to its team of family medicine providers. 
Originally from Crookston, MN, Gawarecki received her undergraduate degree from the Minnesota State University Moorhead, and completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree at the University of North Dakota. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
As a family medicine provider, Gawarecki loves the variety family medicine offers, from pediatrics to geriatrics. She has a special interest in natural family planning and women’s health, and is passionate about preventative care. “I chose to provide care at Lakewood because of recommendations from those who seek medical care there. I have heard nothing but good things about the providers and I’m excited to be part of something great! I am looking forward to building lasting relationships with my patients and those with whom I work.”
Gawarecki enjoys spending time with her husband, Adam, and their two boys. As a family, they love to hike and explore the outdoors, travel and take road trips. In their free time, she and her husband also love to spend time doing photography.
