Dr. Jay Lenz is a general surgeon at Lakewood. He has also served in the United States Navy as an active duty surgeon in Jacksonville, Florida and for a year, was a ship surgeon on the USS Saratoga. He previously taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota - Duluth for third and fourth year medical students, and has earned prestigious awards, such as the Alpha Omega Alpha Volunteer Teacher of the year and Lake Superior Medical Society Teacher of the Year in 2008.
