Family

Katie loves the Brainerd lakes area and all the opportunities it offers. She enjoys attending concerts, plays, and musicals with her daughter and family, as well as being involved in her church community. In her free time, Katie enjoys needlepointing, reading, swimming, playing board games, completing jigsaw puzzles, and playing with her Tonkinese cat.

Medical Interests

Katie Haberkorn has over 18 years of experience in the social work and therapy field and has worked in both outpatient and school-based settings. Her interests include working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment disruptions, out of home placement, and/or adoption. She is a certified adoption competent therapist by the Center for Adoption Support and Education, and is trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Katie has provided crisis response services and has experience licensing families for foster care and adoption, as well as supervising visitation between children and their birth parents. She has also completed DC 0-5 training to assess/diagnose children under the age of five.
