Sept. 19, 2025: Lakewood Health System welcomes Dr. Aquino Williams, oncologist/hematologist, as the newest provider to its oncology team.
Originally from Queens, New York, Dr. Williams completed his undergraduate degree at State University of Farmingdale, and received his medical degree from St. George’s University. He recently completed his residency at Hackensack University Mountainside Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Williams belongs to the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Rural Cancer Institute.
As an oncologist/hematologist, Dr. Williams has a special interest in the delivery of cancer care in rural areas. His focus is on hematologic (blood) conditions, both benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous). That includes multiple myeloma and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). He is also interested in gastrointestinal and prostate malignancy, as well as cancers of the head and neck.
“At Lakewood, we’re uniquely positioned to help close the gap in cancer care for rural communities—and I’m here because I believe in that mission. My goal is to ensure that every patient fully understands their diagnosis and the treatment options available to them. I’ll be here to walk alongside you through each step of your journey, offering support, clarity, and compassion as we work together toward the best possible outcome. You don’t have to face this alone. I’m honored to be part of your care team.”
In his free time, Dr. Williams enjoys hiking, weightlifting, and wood carving.
