Sept. 12, 2025: Lakewood Health System welcomes Jackie Mattson, physician assistant (PA-C), as the newest provider to its family medicine team.

Originally from Verndale, Mattson completed her undergraduate degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead, she has a Master of Science degree from Aurora University, and obtained her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Dakota. Mattson belongs to the American Association of Physician Associates and the North Dakota Academy of Physician Assistants.

As a physician assistant, Mattson enjoys the variety family medicine offers, and values the opportunity to care for patients across all stages of life. She has particular interests in preventive care, women’s health, and pediatrics, and she is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families alike. “I had the opportunity to complete many of my clinical rotations at Lakewood and quickly developed a strong connection to the dedicated providers and staff there, as well as to the community. I’m grateful to be part of a team that works collaboratively to ensure each patient receives high-quality, compassionate care.”

Mattson is a mom of three – two girls and a boy. She is an avid runner and loves being outside and participating in just about any sport. While she dabbles in gardening, she has fully outsourced cooking to her husband of 12 years.
