Nathan Dewey is Newest Member of Lakewood Health System Oncology Team

Apr. 4, 2025: Lakewood Health System welcomes Nathan Dewey, internist and palliative medicine physician, as the newest provider to its oncology team.

Originally from Colorado Springs, CO, Dr. Dewey received his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and he completed his residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Virginia.

As a board-certified internist and palliative medicine physician, Dr. Dewey focuses on improving the quality of life for people with serious or life-limiting illnesses. He collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including medical providers, nurses, social workers and chaplains, to address patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. During visits with patients, he can provide symptom management for conditions such as cancer, heart failure, lung disease, neurological disorders, and more. Dr. Dewey can also assist in creating advance care plans and guiding patients and their families through major decisions in care. While it is not the reason for typical referrals, Dr. Dewey does offer end-of-life care, ensuring comfort and dignity for his patients.

Dr. Dewey and his wife are proud parents to their son, and embrace an active, family-focused lifestyle. From hiking scenic trails and cooking delicious meals to camping under the stars, exploring new destinations, and enjoying the latest TV shows, they treasure every opportunity to create meaningful memories together. They also take great joy in watching their son grow and staying closely connected with their extended family.
